Winchester - Polymer Tipped - 20 Grain 17 WSM Ammo - 500 Rounds

This ammo’s brand name doesn’t hide any of its intentions. A Winchester Varmint High Velocity (HV) cartridge is designed to deliver the flat-as-an-arrow trajectory and dramatic terminal ballistics that’ll turn any varmint or predator into crow bait, pronto.

The 20 grain polymer-tipped bullet has a sharp nose profile, which gracefully transitions to a sleek ogive before abruptly ending as a flat base. It coasts through the air so efficiently that its trajectory to 100 yards barely rises above the bore axis at all (expect ~0.1” peak elevation with 1.5” high sights).

If you cut the bullet in half lengthwise, you would see a little gap between base of the tip and the nose cavity. That enables the tip to build up a little momentum before crashing into the lead core, which triggers lightning-fast expansion in turn. The bullet’s thin jacket provides little resistance to fragmentation, even after lower-velocity impact.
