Details

Developed from the Winchester .32 autoloading cartridge, the .30 Carbine was adopted for military use in 1940 for the new carbine adopted for military service by second echelon and support troops. The round was also very popular in the Pacific theater (and Asian hotspots afterwards) since its high velocity round was not stymied by brush and other soft cover. Today, there are several handguns chambered in this caliber as well as a few other rifles besides the popular M! Carbine. While sometimes dismissed as being too light to be of any good, its easy shooting and high velocity was well appreciated in the PTO and South East Asia. Additionally, shooters of smaller stature or who are recoil sensitive find the caliber literally a blast. The 110 full metal jacketed round by Winchester has a muzzle velocity of 1990 feet per second with 967 foot pounds of energy. This is an ideal round for use in competitive matches, especially CMP/DCM style that focuses on the use of US military style shooting.

Winchester is not only a proud name in US firearms circles, the company designed the .30 Carbine round so if anyone knows ow to do it right, it is them. Loaded on premium quality brass, shooters of this caliber have a ready source of reloadable cases for further use and value. The Winchester “white box” maintains the company’s reputation for dependability into a third century of manufacture.
