Details
The 45 ACP is not a cartridge that lets you sit on the fence. You either love it … or you’re misinformed. But here’s one thing everyone can agree to: Lead exposure is bad for your health. That’s why everyone should love Speer Lawman!
This cartridge is loaded with a 230 grain projectile, which achieves 830 fps muzzle velocity upon streaking out of a 5” barrel. That’s perfectly normal. But the bullet itself is special: a total metal jacket. The TMJ has a lead core, just like any conventional FMJ. Its core just so happens to be entirely sealed away from its copper jacket – unlike an FMJ, which leaves its core exposed at the base.
The TMJ was designed to prevent indoor ranges from becoming clogged up with lead gas. In addition to keeping the range cleaner, this greatly reduces occupants’ exposure to toxic gas. That’s good, because toxic gas is bad. As a nice bonus, the TMJ also keeps a pistol’s bore significantly cleaner.
This ammo’s Boxer primers do contain lead styphnate, which means it’s not entirely lead-free. Its brass cases are new as the day they were first made, however, and should present zero complications at the reloading table.
