Details

Speer made history when they introduced the Gold Dot -- the first handgun bullet with a true bonded core. This 9mm cartridge’s 124 grain projectile was formed via the proprietary Uni-Cor process, where its alloyed lead core was electrochemically fused to its copper jacket one molecule at a time. Because of this the Gold Dot preserves virtually 100 percent of its weight as it pierces plywood, wall board, and steel alike so that it may still penetrate a threat deeply.

The Gold Dot’s nose cavity is formed in two stages: first to control the width it can expand to, and the second to establish how quickly it can mushroom. Along with its inherent ability to retain its weight, that gives this round’s bullet a reliable terminal effect that you can take confidence in during an otherwise unpredictable altercation.

Along with its bullet’s smooth nose profile, this round’s low friction nickel plated brass casing promotes incredibly smooth feeding in a semi-automatic weapon. Nickel further protects this round against corrosion. CCI’s top notch Boxer primer and a consistently loaded charge of propellant even further ensure performance as reliable as a Swiss watch’s.
