Silver Bear - Full Metal Jacket - 123 Grain 7.62X39 Ammo - 20 Rounds
Details
The 7.62x39mm bullet may in fact be among Russia’s largest export. Most certainly if done by unit. Born from the change in tactics that evolved in World War II, this cartridge became the primary service round not only of the USSR but of all client states and their arms customers. In the US the cartridge maintains a good reputation for close to medium range penetration and respect for its larger caliber diameter. Silver Bear’s 123 grain, full metal jacket bullet leaves the muzzle with a velocity of 2400+ feet per second with over 1550 foot pounds of energy. This is made for range training with any combloc mil spec rifle in this caliber as well as for a growing number of sporting guns capable of handling the increased pressure of the steel case.
Barnaul manufacturing got its start in the late 1860s near St. Petersburg as a tsarist arsenal. Active through the First World War then the Civil War, it continued under communist control when in World War II the German siege of Leningrad (St. Petersburg) forced the Soviets to relocate it towards the Caucasus. Today Barnaul continues manufacturing ammunition for the Russian military as well as for commercial export: the zinc/silver plating of the cases setting it aside yet equal to the reliability standards Russians demand.
