Sellier & Bellot - Soft Point - 193 Grain 9.3x72 Ammo - 20 Rounds
Details
The 9.3x72 R (Rimmed) cartridge dates from a time of game hunting where “standards” were not, well, standard. There were several variations of the 9.3x72 developed between the 1880s and 1910s including the “D” for Deutsch and “E” for English. A popular caliber choice for Drilling and break open double rifles favored by well to do hunters of the late Victorian and Edwardian age. Sellier & Bellot’s 9.3x72 case is a standardized chambering that may not readily fit in early chamberings where custom rifles were custom chambered. However, there are tools and data available for refitting current brass to the individual chamberings. The 193 grain soft point bullet by S&B has a muzzle velocity of 1952 feet per second and 1633 foot pounds of energy. It is not unlike a heavy, slower .30-30 rifle round, ideal for deer hunting.
This is a good example of the general offerings by Sellier & Bellot: the Czech munitions manufacturer has almost two hundred years of experience and is world known for providing modern and safe cartridges for calibers that rarely find a place on gun shop shelves. These cases are fully reloadable for custom handloads that help keep these antique firearms serviceable for further generations.
