This isn’t a match grade cartridge, but its 140 grain soft point bullet still gives any marksman license to put all their skills to good use. When the bullet clears a 21.75” barrel at a muzzle velocity of 2,658 fps, it has just what it needs to exhibit a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.417 (G7 BC 0.210). Those numbers translate to a flat trajectory, at least 1,000 ft lbs of energy on impact until 447 yards, and supersonic velocity until 955 yards.

This round’s soft point is nonmagnetic, with a copper-zinc alloy jacket and solid lead core that retain sufficient weight together to produce a deep wound channel. The soft point widens and tumbles around all the while, so all it takes is the right aim to put your deer down pronto.
