Sellier & Bellot - Lead Round Nose - 158 Grain 38 Special Ammo - 50 Rounds
Details
In 1899, there was a need for a medium caliber revolver round that had better performance than the .38 Long Colt that was in US military service and was not fairing well according to battlefield reports from the Philippines. Smith & Wesson’s offering with their new swing out cylinder revolver, the Hand Ejector model, was the .38 Special, which went on to become one of the most successful cartridges for revolvers and carbines thanks to its reasonable recoil and accuracy.
This 158 grain lead round nosed bullet by S&B has a muzzle velocity of 997 feet per second with 349 foot pounds of energy. This round is perfect for range training and target shooting. It is also an ideal candidate for use in cowboy action shooting competitions, such as with the Single Action Shooter Society (SASS).
The Czech company Sellier & Bellot’s status as a quality ammunition maker was well established in Europe before ever coming to the United States.
