Sellier & Bellot - Hollow Point Boat Tail - 250 Grain 338 Lapua Magnum Ammo - 10 Rounds
Details
The U.S. military developed .338 Lapua ammunition in the 1980s when it needed something in between the standard sniper round, the .300 Winchester Magnum, and the .50 BMG which was more suitable for anti-vehicle than anti-personnel. It was initially developed from a necked down .416 Rigby sporting cartridge, strengthened and loaded with modern powder. While developed for the military and their purposes, the cartridge has been adopted by many civilian shooters for long range target shooting as well as safari hunting. The result is a growing number of commercial firearms chambered in this caliber. The 250 grain hollow point, boat tail bullet by S&B has a muzzle velocity of 2878 ft per sec with 4599 ft lbs of energy. It is a premium hunting round. This is a round developed for long range target work but also designed to be effective against large and potentially dangerous game.
The Czech munitions manufacturer Sellier & Bellot has almost 200 years of ammunition production experience in Europe and over the last couple decades has made their expertise and quality known in the States.
