Sellier & Bellot - Hollow Point Boat Tail - 168 Grain 308 Winchester Ammo - 20 Rounds
Details
In 1952 Winchester introduced the .308 caliber rifle round as a short action cartridge capable of firing the same .30 caliber bullet as the .30-06. The impetus behind this development came from the discovery that the “06” round had some difficulty firing out of semi and automatic weapon designs of the late Great War period. John Browning and John Garand preserved the Springfield cartridge for a few more decades, but cartridge designs continued as well, and the .308’s performance led both the US and NATO to adopt the physically identical 7.62x51 NATO round two years later in 1954. The 168 grain boat tailed hollow point bullet by Sellier & Bellot exits the muzzle at 2628 feet per second with 2577 foot pounds of energy. This is a round designed for competitive match shooting as well as civil defense.
With almost two centuries of munitions development and manufacturing, Sellier & Bellot has a tradition that transcends both time and distance. They are well known for the production of less common calibers along with a variety of purpose specific cartridges of the more popular cartridges. Quality components, including reloadable cases, increase the immediate value for hand loading shooters.
