17 WSM Ammo
.17 Winchester Super Magnum ammo is a high velocity rimfire cartridge that fires a light (usually 20 grain) bullet at 3,000 feet per second and performs well against most types of varmints. It was introduced in 2013 by Winchester and Savage based on a .27 cartridge used for nail guns, but necked down for a .17 bullet instead.
Though louder and harder-kicking than most rimfire rounds, .17 WSM ammo delivers excellent fragmentation when used with hollow point loads. Such ammo is typically available from Hornady or Winchester and features polymer-tipped projectiles that offer strong accuracy in addition to devastating terminal performance.
