The 38 Special! One of the most popular revolver cartridges in the United States, thanks in no small part to its compatibility with 357 Magnum firearms (a subtle tip for all you newcomers to the wide world o’ ammo).

Remington left the wheel thoroughly un-reinvented when they loaded these range rounds. A 130 grain bullet loaded to a muzzle velocity of 790 fps isn’t going to crush your carpals with high recoil. The full metal jacket bullet also won’t attract a magnet – it doesn’t contain one lick of steel. Its cannelure won’t eliminate the possibility of crimp jump, but it will help the bullet maintain its factory seating depth all the same. The FMJ also sports a flat nose profile: perfect if you want to cut a clean hole through paper, and suitable for lever guns as well.
