The 1895 Steyr Manlicher, straight pull rifle is quite an interesting rifle given its action and slim lines. Few remain chambered in the original 8x50mm Rimmed chambering as the Austrians rechambered all their rifles in 1930 to a more modern, and logistically sensible round, the 8x56mm Rimmed cartridge presented here. The Hungarians and Bulgarians, who also issued the M1895 quickly followed suit with the rechambering, and then served through to the end of World War II.
