Први партизан (or “Prvi Partizan” if you don’t speak Serbian) always offers an economical yet practical solution to target practice, hunting or home defense. So long as you’ve got a 308 Win rifle – or heck, even a 7.62x51 rifle – you’ve got every reason you need to order a case of Prvi Partizan’s best!
This cartridge’s bullet weighs just 3 grains heavier than a 7.62x51 M80, and its posted muzzle velocity is about 100 fps faster. That’s not to claim that this commercial 308 Win offers apples-to-apples identical ballistic performance to the Army’s ball ammo – but if you learned how to shoot at boot camp, then we reckon this ammo doesn’t hold too many surprises in store for you.
This round’s bullet is a traditional soft point. Its copper-alloy jacket keeps it intact enough to penetrate deeply into a quarry, and its lead core’s unjacketed tip enables uniform mushrooming after impact. Many would argue that a 150 grain bullet is too light for elk, but few would insist it couldn’t handle a whitetail!
Don’t mistake Prvi Partizan for a Russian manufacturer, now. Their bullets do not have steel cores or bimetal jackets, which makes them wholly incapable of attracting a magnet. This ammo is also loaded with noncorrosive Boxer primers and virgin brass cases, so they’re just what Dr. Handloader ordered!
