This cartridge’s stats raise eyebrows. A 240 grain bullet and 1,542 fps muzzle velocity translate to 1,267 ft lbs striking energy at the muzzle. Is this ammo unusually powerful? No. Prvi Partizan merely recorded its muzzle velocity with a 8.25” test barrel. For reference, the test barrel Federal Premium uses to record their 44 Mag ammo’s muzzle velocity is 4”, and it is also vented to simulate the cylinder-barrel gap shared by all revolvers. In short, this ammo is not inordinately powerful, and it should therefore function safely in any 44 Mag revolver or rifle.

This cartridge’s bullet is the tried-and-true jacketed hollow point. Between its rigid notched copper-alloy jacket, wide and deep nose cavity, and broad nose profile, it’s equipped with every tool it needs to unleash devastating terminal ballistics. The bullet cannot attract a magnet, and its cannelure helps to ward off creep in a wheel gun.
