Details

British arms maker Holland & Holland introduced their .375 Magnum cartridge in 1912. It was the second of the commercial belted magnums to rely on the neck instead of the rim to ensure proper headspace seating in the chamber. It was a direct competitor to the German 9.3 Mauser round in African Safari hunting and after World War II was above the minimum caliber requirements many African countries enacted for game hunting. It is famous for being able to take on any game from elephant on down, and trusted for stopping charging animals in their tracks. Another bonus to this caliber is that ballistic trajectories do not vary between different bullet weights, making this a versatile caliber for different game. The 300 grain full metal jacket round by PRVI Partizan achieves a muzzle velocity of 2542 feet per second with 4322 foot pounds of energy. This is a target shooting or training round rather than suitable for game hunting.

Serbia’s PRVI Partizan company not only provides ammunition for the Serbian military but has also developed a strong reputation for exporting quality commercial ammunition for hunting as well as range training purposes. Their brass cases are boxer primed providing economical savings to shooters of this venerable yet not always common caliber.
