It’s getting trickier and trickier to find decent 44 Special ammunition. It’s just not as popular as the 38, and kids (by which we mean young adults) these days don’t appreciate the solid reliability of a decent revolver like they used to. This cartridge is loaded with a jacketed hollow point. We’d even go so far as to designate it as a semi-jacketed hollow point, seeing as how its lead rim isn’t shielded by copper. This is a bonus, as it allows the relatively slow-moving bullet to undergo fuller terminal expansion following lower-velocity impact. The bullet’s sloping profile ends in a flat circle, which makes it safe for lever-action rifles in addition to more damaging even when terminal expansion doesn’t take place.
