PMC - Full Metal Jacket - 165 Grain 40 Smith & Wesson Ammo - 50 Rounds
Details
The .40 Smith & Wesson was developed as a 10mm Auto short in 1990. The development was the result of the FBI’s search for a more potent round than the then in service 9mm Luger. Initially choosing the 10mm, the Feds quickly learned that that caliber has too much recoil for too many agents. A redesign by S&W and Federal shortened the 10mm to the current .40 S&W, which remained a primary law enforcement round for almost thirty years. While largely replaced by a redesigned 9mm in LEO service, the .40 remains popular with shooters for delivering similar performance to a .45 ACP but at a reduced cost and higher capacity. The 165 grain full metal jacket round by PMC has a muzzle velocity of 989 feet per second with 358 foot pounds of energy. It is a quality training and target shooting round with a higher velocity than the slower 180gr bullets.
Precision Made Cartridges (PMC) is a primary munitions supplier of the South Korean state. Originally a manufacturer of defense ammo for the Republic of Korea’s military and training rimfire ammo, PMC has expanded to commercial export. Key to PMC’s global success is their control over components from selection through the completion of the manufacturing process. As always, PMC brass is also fully reloadable for handloading customization.
