Details

The .38 Smith & Wesson Special was introduced as an improvement upon Colt’s .38 Long and judging by its longevity, it has done a very good job. Presented to the world along with Smith’s new swing out cylinder, Hand Ejector Model, the caliber eventually became the law enforcement caliber of choice from the 1920’s through to the 1970’s. It is also very popular among private shooters for its accuracy and dependable performance in competition and personal defense.

The 125 grain +P soft point bullet has a muzzle velocity of up to 938 feet per second with 244 foot pounds of energy. It is ideal for hunting and for personal defense, with the flat nosed bullet safe for use in firearms utilizing a tube magazine. Note: +P ammunition should not be fired out of firearms not rated for it: either .357 Magnum firearms or consulting the manufacturer’s specs is recommended before using this ammunition.

Distributed under the South American based CBC Group, Magtech established a reputation for dependable performance in 1990 and has expanded their lines of ammunition to hunting and personal defense, as well as indoor range safe (green) training ammo. They continue to provide ammunition on boxer primed cases for additional value to reloaders.
