Details
The venerable .45 Long Colt (LC) cartridge was a joint venture between Colt firearms and Union Metallic Cartridge company (UMC) in 1871. It was adopted by the US Army in 1873 along with the iconic Colt Single Action Army, model 1873. While it only served in the US military for 14 years, to be replaced by the .45 Schofield S&W, which could be fired in both the Colt and S&W models to answer logistical concerns. The .45 LC nevertheless has remained in the American psyche as the caliber of the Wild West, experiencing a renaissance of use in recent years with the rising popularity of western style shooting. Magtech's lead flat nose 250 grain has a muzzle velocity of 760 feet per second with 32 foot pounds of energy. This is an ideal round for use in the western style single action shooting competitions that see so much use for this trusty old round, ….pilgrim.
Magtech continues to provide quality practice and defense ammunition from the CBC Group that is becoming a standard in both informal and formal competitions. Boxer primed brass cases are readily reloadable for shooters to continue to use as practice rounds at the range or in the back yard.
