Magtech - Lead Flat Nose - 240 Grain 44 S&W Special Ammo - 50 Rounds
Details
Magtech's 44 special ammo with a 240 grain lead flat nosed bullet delivers a muzzle velocity of 761 feet per second and 309 foot pounds of energy. It is an ideal round for target shooting where the flat nosed bullet makes for easier target reads on paper targets. Basically, the flat nose helps it make a cleaner hole than traditional FMJ or ball ammo might.
When you buy this 44 S&W ammo, you'll get a single box of ammo containing 50 rounds.
In 1907 Smith & Wesson began production of the .44 Special for their New Century Revolver released the following year to inaugurate exclusive modern cartridges for a new era. The Special was an adaptation of the .44 S&W Russian into a smokeless powder version by lengthening the older cartridge and adding extra powder. While not developing any better energy levels as the black powder predecessors that were then being phased out at the start of the 20th Century, the .44 Special has inherently very good accuracy, which made it a candidate for a lot of handloading custom loads. Unfortunately, the most famous use of the .44 Special was by the Son of Sam murderer.
As a range and training ammunition manufacturer, Magtech has earned positive accolades from range and training instructors since 1990. Brass cases with boxer primers make the product have further value, especially if you are interested in handloading custom rounds for this caliber.
