This cartridge has a classic 147 grain FMJ projectile. It is loaded to achieve a muzzle velocity of 2,740 fps when fired from a 22” barrel. At that rate the bullet exhibits a 0.398 G1 ballistic coefficient, enabling it to deliver a flat enough trajectory for accurate shooting at any point within the 7.62x51’s effective range.

The FMJ is an economical bullet design that favors smooth, clean performance and target grade accuracy without the terminal expansion you’d want for hunting or self-defense. Magtech’s bullet is made out of copper alloy and lead. There is no steel anywhere in this cartridge that would make it magnetic.

This ammo is loaded in new production brass cases, with the correct dimensions to chamber neatly in any rifle. Magtech’s 9-1/2 large rifle primer is non-corrosive and easy to swap out if you’re a handloading kind of guy.
