What’s that? You’re going deer hunting? With a 6.8 SPC rifle? That’s the greatest idea we’ve heard all day! We love the way you think! And we just so happen to have just the ammo you need to enjoy total success. It’s Hornady Custom!
This round is armed with Hornady’s specialized deer hunting bullet: the one and only Super Shock Tip. Its signature tip is made of hard polymer, which enables it to wedge deep into the lead core on impact and produce lightning-fast (yet carefully controlled) terminal expansion. Deep penetration is no challenge for the SST, as its one-piece core and thick, tapered copper jacket are locked together in two separate places: the cannelure, and the InterLock ring just behind it.
Is the SST a flat-shooting bullet? Is it ever! It doesn’t just have a ballistically efficient polymer tip. It doesn’t just have a sleek secant ogive profile. It also has a boat tail! Once the 120 grain projectile has ripped out of a 16” barrel at a velocity of 2,460 fps, its 0.209 G7 BC enables it to hit a 200 yard zero without going higher than 2.75” above the bore line (assuming 1.5” sight height). At 300 yards, the bullet’s elevation will dip to -10.83”.
Handloader quality; factory pricing. That’s the promise behind every one of Hornady’s Custom series cartridges, which are loaded with perfect reloadable brass cases.
