Hornady’s goal for their Custom series ammunition is simple: to provide the same consistent quality one should expect from the work of an experienced handloader. Perfect if you have no more intention of operating a reloading press than you have of baking rainbow-colored macarons.

This is 9mm self-defense ammo, loaded with one of the most effective jacketed hollow point bullets Hornady has ever invented: the eXtreme Terminal Performance. The bullet owes much of its efficacy to its extensively engineered gilding metal jacket. It fully covers the edge of the lead core’s nose cavity, which enables smoother feeding into the chamber. It exhibits excellent concentricity, which keeps the bullet balanced in flight to promote better accuracy. It is also drawn instead of plated, which is why it becomes progressively thinner as it approaches the tip of the bullet. Alongside the rim’s precision serrations, its attenuated jacket allows the JHP to undergo broader expansion at lower velocities.

Hornady’s Custom ammo is loaded with select brass cases, which meet all of the Nebraskan company’s high standards for hardness, strength and corrosion resistance, as well as matched primers and powder. Ten boxes per case, but you will want even more than that.
