9mm Luger ammunition is the most popular centerfire pistol cartridge in the US and the world. Introduced by Luger as a larger caliber for his famous pistol, the 9 has gone on to become one of the few calibers to be used by the antagonists of World War II. Often prepared for replacement, its reliability, economy of cost and adaptability to new designs has kept the caliber as a primary choice for both law enforcement and civilians – whether for defense or recreational purposes. Hornady’s Critical Duty flex tip, 135 grain bullet has a muzzle velocity of 1110 feet per second with 369 foot pounds of energy. It is designed for use out of a standard issue, service weapon – 4” barrel.
