Details
The 6.5 Creedmoor is named after Creedmoor Sports, which is itself named after a hunting range that used to be located in New York City. Imagine how much property tax the NRA’s historic Creedmoor Rifle Range would cost if it were still in Queens!
A rifle range is the perfect place to experience this Match series ammo by Hornady (the same company that introduced the 6.5 CM in 2007). That’s because it’s not loaded with a hunting bullet or a standard FMJ. It features the ELD Match: built for accuracy and accuracy alone, and excellent at its only job.
The ELD Match’s thin jacket wouldn’t help it penetrate a game animal deeper. It’s Hornady’s AMP jacket, which is made to be as concentric as possible. It gives the ELD Match balance. So too does the bullet’s Heat Shield tip, which is made of heat resistant polymer that doesn’t get warped fresh out of the gun. Alongside its boat tail, the Heat Shield streamlines the ELD Match so it has a 0.351 G7 BC. In less technical terms, this round’s 147 grain bullet has a flat trajectory.
Hornady Match ammo is loaded with high-quality components all around, and tested to ensure consistent lot-to-lot performance. Hornady has always kept their founding motto close at heart: Ten bullets through one hole.
