327 Magnum Ammo
A new cartridge introduced by Ruger and Federal in 2008, the .327 Federal Magnum is descended from the .32 S&W and .32 H&R Magnum and delivers comparable performance to the .357 Magnum in a more compact package that produces less recoil and blast while maintaining six-round cylinder capacity in small concealed carry oriented revolvers. Some larger revolvers firing .327 Federal Magnum ammo can hold 7 or 8 shots, though these are more often used for sporting purposes than CCW.
The .327 Fed Mag fires a relatively light bullet at a high muzzle velocity and offers strong expansion as a result. With jacketed hollow point ammo, this caliber is a formidable choice for self-defense. Quality ammo is available from several manufacturers including Speer and Federal.
Notable revolvers chambered in this caliber include the S&W Model 632, Ruger SP101 and LCR, and Taurus Model 327.
