FN Herstal - Jacketed Hollow Point - 27 Grain 5.7x28mm Ammo - 500 Rounds

Got some real interesting 5.7x28mm in store for you today, stranger! It’s FN Herstal’s own SS198LF spec ammunition – a lead-free round that is designated for law enforcement use, but which is also available to every non-badge-wearing Tom, Dick and Harry who shops on CheapAmmo.com!

This round’s 27 grain jacketed hollow point doesn’t have a polymer tip. That’s just green paint, and it’s solely for identification purposes. The bullet’s copper jacket conceals an aluminum core, so it can’t emit any vaporized lead that would cloud up an indoor range. This ammo’s reloadable brass cases are socketed with lead-free Boxer primers – a great touch if you’re truly adamant about minimizing your exposure to the bad stuff.

FN Herstal recorded this round’s 2,216 muzzle velocity with a Five-seveN, which has a 4.8” barrel. That’s not much shorter than the Ruger-57’s 4.94" barrel, so you can expect comparable ballistic performance whichever pistol you’re firing. MV out of a PS90 bullpup (16" barrel) is 2,530 fps.
