Fiocchi isn’t determined to reinvent the 9mm cartridge. Their goal in creating their Defense Dynamics line of ammunition is much humbler: to give you the stuff you need to reliably defend yourself with a pistol or carbine.

This round’s hefty bullet has a 975 fps muzzle velocity. That’s 150 fps lower than the speed of sound (give or take depending on atmospheric conditions), which makes this ammo an effective choice for a suppressed handgun. The lead-core jacketed hollow point has the nose cavity and symmetrically notched jacket rim it needs in order to commence expansion immediately after impact. It’s good assurance (but no guarantee) that the bullet will not pass through the threat completely.

Fiocchi’s name sounds like it could be an Italian company – and it is. But when you’re appreciating this ammo’s noncorrosive Boxer primers, reloadable brass cases and nonmagnetic JHPs, you’re appreciating real American-made craftsmanship all the same.
