You should definitely order a whole case of Fiocchi Defense Dynamics 12 Gauge rifled slug ammunition! You’ll be better prepared for a worst case scenario. You’ll be able to train with the same ammo you’d bank on for self-preservation. You’ll also receive all the benefits of a low-recoil shell: more comfortable target shooting, and greater accuracy while you’re attempting to fire as rapidly as you’re able.
This Missouri-made shell features Fiocchi’s own Aero slug. It is rifled, which is mainly to say that it is exclusively designed for rifled bore shotguns. It has a hollow point, and will deliver positive terminal expansion that maximizes soft tissue damage while simultaneously mitigating the risk of over-penetration. And because the slug weighs 1 ounce and accelerates to a barely supersonic muzzle velocity of 1,150 fps, it still achieves a powerful muzzle energy: 1,285 ft lbs, which spells an inordinately bad time for the target.
Fiocchi gave this shell even lighter recoil by loading it with a hinged, compressible plastic wad. That doesn’t reduce its chamber pressure, although we still wouldn’t trust this 2-1/2 dram equivalent ammo to cycle a semi-automatic shotgun.
