This round’s 124 grain projectile is the middle of the road in terms of weight. Its intermediate recoil precedes a satisfactorily flat trajectory, and its ballistics are extremely similar to those of a self-defense cartridge’s 124 grain jacketed hollow point. The full metal jacket can’t expand, of course, so it would inflict less damage to a threat than a JHP (and probably pass straight through them). Where the FMJ really shines is at the range, as its economical construction, easy-feeding profile and consistent accuracy all add up to a good time perforating targets.

This ammunition’s nonmagnetic FMJs are seated in virgin brass cases with noncorrosive Boxer primers. Federal brass always makes for fine handloading components, so be sure pick up every empty your pistol or carbine spits out!
