9mm - 124 Grain FMJ - Federal American Eagle - 50 Rounds
Details
This 124 grain full metal jacket ammo by Federal has a muzzle velocity of over 1,100 feet per second and 340+ foot pounds of energy. Choosing the 124 grain 9mm ammo over the more common 115 grain bullet can offer marginally better performance out of some firearms. There is no appreciable difference in energy between the two, but some firearms that appear finicky may be more accommodating in feeding and cycling of the heavier round. This is NOT to be confused with the 124 NATO round, which is closer to a +P load --- that basically means the cartridge is loaded to higher than standard pressures.
As you might know, the 9mm Luger ammunition was designed by Georg Luger for his famous P08 pistol. In short order it was adopted by the Imperial German Navy, then the Imperial German Army. Its performance in World War I led to many countries adopting the caliber for both military and civilian uses in the years after. So universal was its acceptance that it was one of perhaps two calibers used by both adversaries in World War II.
Federal has made quality ammunition since 1922 in the countryside of Minnesota. Their American Eagle branding is a trusted source of training and target ammunition. Brass cases with boxer primers also make it an acceptable source of reloading components for further value.
