CCI - Hollow Point - 16 Grain 17 HMR Ammo - 50 Rounds
Details
The 16 grain, hollow point bullet by CCI has a muzzle velocity of 2500 feet per second and hits with 222 foot pounds of energy. While faster and flatter than the 5mm round, its downrange energy does expire faster. Nevertheless, many shooters remain impressed with this zippy little cartridge that delivers such results for relative economy. Good for target practice and competition, the round is also ideal with dealing with small game and varmints, even at what is usually considered long range for a rimfire.
Cascade Cartridge Incorporated is a well-recognized name in the world of rimfire cartridges. From .22LR to .22 mag to the high performing .17HMR, CCI offers range, training, competition and hunting ammunition for the most discerning shooter with consistent performance and some of the highest velocities on the market.
The .17 HMR is one of the most successful wildcat rimfire rounds that was developed in 2002. Different manufacturers and individuals were attempting to duplicate the old 5mmRRM round for accuracy and velocity. Hornady achieved this by necking down a .22WMR case to accept a pointed .17 caliber bullet: the .17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire. The result was very flat shooting, very fast projectile that has taken the rimfire world by storm as it was delivering ballistic performances comparable to centerfire ammunition.
