Brown Bear - Full Metal Jacket - 174 Grain 7.62x54r Ammo - 500 Rounds
Details
This 7.62x54r round hails from the Barnaul Cartridge Plant in Russia, which has operated since the day of Emperor Alexander II. The old manufacturer specializes in steel cased ammunition, which does away with the need for significantly more expensive brass. This round will therefore make much less of a dent in your shooting budget, but on the downside can only be fired once. Steel’s relative inflexibility prevents it from returning to form once fired.
A Brown Bear load gets its name from the distinctive lacquer coating its case wears. The lacquer not only prevents against corrosion during long term storage, but further reduces friction for more certain feeding and extraction. This round’s Berdan primer and propellant are both non-corrosive to keep your rifle ship shape. Its 174 grain FMJ projectile is about 18 percent heavier than the bullet you’ll usually find on a 7.62x54r, and offers better resistance to wind drift because of it.
