Aguila - Full Metal Jacket - 130 Grain 38 Super Ammo - 1000 Rounds
Details
The gangland warfare of the late 1920's and early 1930's inspired several advances in firearms technology and cartridge designs. In 1929, Colt improved the .38 ACP round to create increased energy to answer the demand of superior penetrative qualities: specifically, in defeating the bullet proof vests that were in use by syndicated bank robbers. The result was the .38 Super which delivered the qualities both lawmen and outlaws alike sought. It is even said that Joh Dillinger favored a 1911 Colt chambered in .38 Super. While the .357 Magnum by Smith & Wesson followed shortly after, eclipsing the .38 Super, the latter remained an adored round by competitive pistol shooters. Aguila's 130 grain full metal bullet has a muzzle velocity of 1220 feet per second and over 990 foot pounds of energy. This penetrative round is ideal for range, target and competitive shooting.
Since 1961, Aguila has made premium ammunition from Cuernavaca, Mexico. The quality of their rimfire rounds has been inherited by the centerfire line, not least of which being the high powered .38 Super +P. Exercising an extensive procedure for using only premium components, Aguila brass is prized by reloaders all over the country. This 1000 case lot represents a worthy investment for .38 Super shooters.
