Barnes VOR-TX TSX 62 Grain 5.56x45mm Ammo - 20 Rounds
Details
While its establishment as a military round dates back to the early 1960s, 5.56X45mm ammo remains a popular target and hunting cartridge every bit as much as its .223 Remington progenitor. When it is loaded with a bit more pressure and a heavier bullet for long range stability, the NATO round delivers impressive performance down range in both accuracy and terminal ballistics. This goes double (triple?) when loaded with the Barnes TSX bullets. The 62 grain projectiles have a muzzle velocity of 2850 feet per second with 1118 foot pounds of energy. This is a bullet that is designed specifically with sport hunting in mind. However, it is important to remember that this is a cartridge not intended for use in .223 chambers.
Barnes has a history stretching back to 1932 when Fred Barnes began making bullets in his basement. After a long journey and many changes along the way, Barnes introduced their triple shock bullet (TSX) line in 2003 and it has become one of the most effective, and therefore popular, hunting bullets on the market for custom sport loaders. Provided already loaded on quality brass, boxer primed cases, all the hard work is already done but the actual hunt.
