Federal American Eagle Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) 230 Grain 45 ACP (Auto) Ammo - 50 Rounds
Details
The full metal jacket (FMJ) .45 ACP ammo by Federal has a muzzle velocity of 890 feet per second with 400 foot pounds of energy. It is ideal for target shooting and training, and although not ideal, it is also a viable defense option where hollow point ammunition is prohibited and there are concerns of over-penetration.
The .45 Automatic Colt Pistol cartridge was developed at the dawn of the 20th century by request of the United States military to replace the venerable single action Colt round with one of similar performance but able to function out of a more modern firearm. The round gave birth to the 1911 Colt. In the decades following, the cartridge has been embraced by military and civilians alike, in a variety of firearm models, for its potency in close quarters combat as well as for target shooting.
American Eagle is the target and training ammunition made by Federal for reliable and consistent use in preparing both shooter and firearm for optimum functionality. Since the 1920's Federal has manufactured quality ammunition in the countryside of Minnesota for sporting and defensive uses. Cases are brass with boxer primers making Federal's American Eagle (AE) cartridges reloadable and therefore an obvious value for the money.
