Details

The .32 Automatic Colt Pistol (ACP) was the first of John Browning’s semi-automatic pistol caliber introduced in 1899. Unlike the bottle nosed cartridges that were common in the early days of self loaders, the 7.65 Browning (as it was also known) is powered by a straight walled case in the pursuit of reliability and simplicity. As the round was quickly adopted for use by dozens of countries and still more manufacturers, it seems to have been a success. While not the most powerful round for personal defense today, the ability to be fired from ultra-compact and concealable hold out pistols makes the caliber an attractive choice to many.

The 60 grain solid copper, hollow point bullet by Corbon has a muzzle velocity of 1050 feet per second with 147 foot pounds of energy. This is a DPX, Deep Penetrating Expanding round, designed for personal defense.

Traditional hollow point bullets can sometimes be clogged by clothing, meaning that they may fail to expand when passing through materials such as denim and leather. This meant their energy would pass through, rather than be transferred into, the target. Corbon was begun in the 1980s to provide law enforcement and carry concealed weapon owners a round that was guaranteed to expand, regardless of intervening material.
