Hornady Superformance GMX 150 Grain 308 Winchester (7.62X51) Ammo - 20 Rounds
Details
Based on the .308 Winchester and introduced two years afterwards in 1954, the 7.62x51 NATO remains a popular rifle round for both civil defense and sporting purposes. As such, bullet designs are constantly being developed and introduced to squeeze every iota of performance out of the cartridge. Hornady’s GMX bullet is completely made of an alloy to gain as much as 200 extra feet per second of velocity and to maintain its full mass and penetrative potential. Their 150 grain bullet has a muzzle velocity of 2940 feet per second and 2878 foot pounds of energy. The extra energy provides additional range and penetration into the target. This is a performance round for competitions, as well as deer and elk hunting. Though it is not at all unreasonable for military and police precision shooters to adopt the cartridge for their own needs.
Hornady was founded in the 1960’s with two decades of experience making bullet jackets from spent rimfire brass. Well regarded for ammunition components, Hornady bullets are often sought after by handloaders for use in their own custom loads. Their finished cartridges are relied upon by professional competitors as well as defensive shooters in law enforcement agencies.
