Black Hills Remanufactered Ammunition Sierra MatchKing Open Tip Match 69 Grain 223 Remington Ammo - 50 Rounds
Details
Remington’s .223 caliber began as a varmint caliber repurposed to US military specification in the 1960’s for a new medium caliber round. The specifications required were for reduced caliber and weight for maximum carry capacity but enough velocity to penetrate minimum body armor, or at least combat helmets at close to medium range. This caliber was the lasting result and it has remained in service, in one for or another, for over fifty years.
This 223 ammo is loaded with a 69 grain, open tipped bullet by Black Hills. They report you should expect a muzzle velocity of 2850 feet per second with 1244 foot pounds of energy. This heavier bullet is designed for small game and varmint hunting out of heavier barrels with a slower twist (1 revolution in 7 inches for example).
Black Hills Ammunition began as a single action shooters supply for the growing art of cowboy action competitions. Yet they are not limited to wild west calibers. Their line of .223/5.56 NATO rounds, for example, have become the first choice for professional competitions teams as well. Loaded on remanufactured brass cases, obviously reloadable, with Sierra match open tipped bullets, these are rounds designed for long range stability and deep penetration into the targets.
