Federal Tactical Truball Low Recoil Rifled Slug 2-3/4" 1 oz. 12 Gauge Ammo - 250 Rounds
Details
The shotgun slug, as opposed to just a large, round shot, was developed in the 19th century to provide a large round with better stability and accuracy over a round ball. Typically used for large game and sporting applications, great care should be used when considering use of a slug for personal defense, especially indoors. Rifled slugs offer additional stability in flight for better accuracy but generally should NOT be fired out of rifled barrels. Made for smooth bore, Federal’s one ounce of lead slug has a muzzle velocity of 1300 feet per second with up to 1644 foot pounds of energy. It is ideal for hunting larger game at what may be uncomfortably close distances and in situations where a follow up shot may not be necessary. Slugs are also fairly effective against hardened targets (“bad guys” wearing body armor): although they may not penetrate, getting hit at close range with such a round is certain to generate some kinetic energy.
Federal Ammunition has been a main stay of US domestic sporting ammunition, and no where is that more evident in the production of shotgun ammunitions. Made with reloadable shells, Federal is a popular source of ammo for both recreational and professional shooters.
