Federal Speed-Shok #3 Shot 2-3/4" 1-1/8 oz. 12 Gauge Ammo - 25 Rounds
Details
Shotguns tend to be the multi-purpose tool of the firearms world, for defense, military and police and sporting all included. The most popular use outside of law enforcement is for birding: a sport once reserved for the aristocracy now available to those who have the slightest interest. While lead shot is good for upland and the range, however, steel shot is the new requirement for hunting water fowl to protect the waterways from any lead contamination. This 2.75” 12 gauge shotshell is loaded with 1-1/8 ounces of #3 steel shot (approximately 170 or so .14” diameter). This is a bit larger than more commonly used shot shells so may be more appropriate for use on larger birds such as goose. Steel shot also tends to group tighter than lead, partially because it tends to have a higher velocity: approximately 1375 feet per second at the muzzle.
Federal ammunition is one of the largest shotgun shell makers in the US and is trusted by sportsmen both at the skeet range and in the field for delivering reliably and dependable ammunition. They are also among the first to pioneer steel shot, and the protective wadding that helps protect against the steel shot scouring the barrel.
