Hornady Critical Duty Flex-Tip-Technology (FTX) 175 Grain 10mm Auto Ammo - 20 Rounds
Details
Developed I the early 1980s with input from none other than Major “Jeff” Cooper, the 10mm Auto was a cartridge designed to maintain over 1000 feet per second velocities to 50 meters when fired out of a 5” barrel. While lauded as a law enforcement round, it quickly had trouble winning over every officer who fired it and found the recoil to be detrimental to accurate follow up shots. While th e.40 S&W became the stepped down alternative, the 10mm remains a popular choice for shooters who are not recoil sensitive and who want a potent cartridge for use as “bear medicine” and the like. Hornady’s 175 grain flex tip bullet has a muzzle velocity of 1160 feet per second with 523 foot pounds of energy. This is a superb personal defense cartridge.
Hornady’s Critical Defense rounds are made with the service pistol in mind, rather than the smaller concealable hand guns. Designed to deliver optimum terminal ballistics out of barrels of 4” or more, the nickel plated, boxer primed cases are fully reloadable while the flex tip bullets provide superior feeding reliability as well as accuracy to the target before encouraging the bullet to expand, causing maximum stopping power down range.
